Frayed Edge Press is pleased to announce that Blessed Hands: Stories by Frume Halpern, translated by Yermiyahu Ahron Taub, has been recognized in two categories at the 2024 CIPA EVVY Awards. This collection of compassionate and affecting short stories were written by Halpern, an immigrant living in New York in the early to mid-20th century. They first appeared in print in Yiddish-language newspapers and have been thoughtfully translated into English by Taub. Blessed Hands: Stories has been awarded the GOLD (First Place) medal in the Women's Fiction category, and the SILVER (Second Place) medal in the Religious/Spiritual Fiction category. The CIPA EVVYs™ is one of the longest-running book award competitions on the Indie publishing scene, and is sponsored by the Colorado Independent Publishers Association (CIPA), along with the CIPA Education and Literacy Foundation (ELF). The EVVY Awards recognizes excellence in high-quality, independently published books and books from small presses. |
